Experience Venice’s secret soul aboard the Cormorant, a 1958 wooden masterpiece. Guided by a local skipper, enjoy an exclusive sailing journey through the Lagoon and Adriatic. Help with maneuvers, savor an aperitivo at Poveglia, and admire St. Mark’s.
Beyond the Wind’s Edge: A Cultural Salon among the Waves
of the Lagoon
Forget standard tourist tours. Stepping aboard the Cormorant—a
10.70-meter wooden sloop built in 1958 by the legendary Sangermani
shipyards—means crossing the threshold into a world where time stands still.
This is more than a boat trip; it is an invitation to experience Venice and its
Lagoon with the elegance of a bygone era.
Under the expert guidance of the captain—a deep connoisseur
of Venetian history, a seasoned skipper, and an adventure novelist—the boat
becomes a traveling cultural salon. Following a meticulous philological
restoration that returned this "violin of the sea" to its former
glory, the Cormorant sails the waters of the Lagoon, often
venturing into the Adriatic through the San Nicoletto port inlet.
During the voyage, guests are not mere spectators: those who
wish may take part in the maneuvers, learning to read the wind and command a
vessel that has sailed through history. The route, flexible and designed for
total relaxation, includes exclusive stops, such as Poveglia Island, for
refreshments on board surrounded by the silence of the lagoon. The return,
passing before St. Mark’s Square at sunset, offers a unique, intimate
perspective of the Serenissima, far from the tourist crowds.
This experience is dedicated to cultured travelers, lovers of classic yachting, and anyone seeking a personal, authentic connection with Venice. Because for the captain, sailing means sharing a profound love for his city, each guest is carefully selected, turning the outing into a moment of mutual exchange and enrichment rather than a mere commercial service.
