The activity takes place on a farm estate set in the Val Paradiso, a region historically renowned for its almond groves. During the blossom season, the landscape would turn white, inspiring the creation of the historic Almond Blossom Festival, still celebrated every year in Agrigento.
After a brief introduction to almond culture and local traditions, you will dive into the workshop: guided step by step, you will prepare traditional “ricci di mandorla” with your own hands, starting from the processing of almonds through to making the dough and shaping the cookies.
While they bake, you will also learn about the history and secrets of the famous Frutta Martorana, a symbol of Sicilian pastry-making.
The experience ends with a convivial tasting of the freshly baked cookies and the opportunity to take your own creations home.
